Gerald Jacobson was born in Cape Town, South Africa on 10th April 1940. Art was a major subject while at school and in 1958 attended the Michaelis School of Fine Art, 1960, Gerald joined a large design studio working with international artists on local and international accounts. 1963 Gerald decided to establish his own design studio, including photography for advertising. Soon to be recognised as one of Cape Town’s leading photographers. A few years ago, Gerald decided to pick up the paintbrushes and started painting again. His paintings consist of a variety of styles, least of which is his “Fat Lady” series, which he hopes will kindle a feeling of “joi de vivre.”
